So I have the basic head and shoulders the way I want them. I was worried that the sculpey would crack as there is a fairly hefty wire armature inside.

I have a lot of fine tuning and sanding to do and then I plan to add armour made from real steel and copper pieces riveted together

birthday present

barbarabirthdaypresent, originally uploaded by parkadge.

This started out as several castings I made from a "Form-u-lay" mould joined together to portray the facade of a Factory building as part of a military diorama but a friend liked it so much I ended up dedicating it to her for her birthday

My Daughter katri drew this fox's head for me and I figured out how to do it in copper.

winged heart X

winged heart X, originally uploaded by parkadge.

The texture on the wings is from german hammer and the X on the heart is is just done by hammering the design in with an old screwdriver- very basic

I'm just using basic hand tools because I'm not really set up for this- my anvil is the head off an old sledge hammer. I have a few hammers and a couple of hand shears, pliers and  punches. I used to do a lot of this kind of work but I realise I forgotten a lot of techniques

I'm playing around making these copper ornaments. I start with a heavy guage sheet copper cut with a hand shears and hammer it into shape then weld it together using copper to copper rod

Hat

Untitled-2, originally uploaded by parkadge.

Been quiet lately but I had promised myself I'd work on some sculpture this weekend. Instead I started work on this hat. Probably from rereading Patrick O Brian's Aubrey/Maturin Novels.
I might add a cockade with a harp on it and pint the whole thing green for Saint Patrick's day
